YB Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong is a Malaysian political leader and Member of Parliament for Hulu Rajang, Sarawak, with extensive experience in public service, governance and organisational leadership at both state and federal levels. His career in public service began in Sarawak, where he served in various roles and gained valuable experience in administration, development and policymaking.
He was subsequently appointed to the federal government, serving as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, where his portfolio included matters relating to Sabah, Sarawak and special duties. On 5 June 2026, Quandatics Omnitech participated in the Fanruan ASEAN Summit 2026, where our CEO was invited as a panelist to share industry perspectives on data quality, data integration and the foundations required for successful AI adoption. The session brought together technology leaders and industry practitioners to discuss how organisations can better harness data and emerging technologies to drive business value.
During the panel discussion, we highlighted three common challenges facing organisations today: poor data quality, data silos and the lack of clear data governance and ownership. Inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent or outdated data can result in what is often described as “Garbage In, Garbage Out” and this becomes even more critical as organisations increasingly rely on AI for insights and decision-making. We also highlighted the difficulty of integrating legacy and modern systems, where different platforms often use different data structures, definitions and standards.
We emphasised that organisations should not rush into AI without first establishing a strong data foundation. This starts with clear data governance and ownership, followed by improving data quality and integration to establish a trusted and consistent view of information across the organisation. Equally important is building a data-driven culture from the top down, where people across the organisation understand the value of data and incorporate it into everyday decision-making.
The key message from the discussion was simple: before organisations can become AI-driven, they must first become data-disciplined. A reliable data foundation is not created through technology alone; it requires the right balance of People, Process and Technology. Ultimately, the biggest challenge in AI may not be the algorithm itself, but whether organisations can trust the data feeding the algorithm.

Our participation reflected Omnitech’s continued commitment to advancing AI, Data & Analytics, Next-Generation IoT and digital transformation across Malaysia and the region.
During the event, we showcased a range of our technology capabilities and solutions, demonstrating how Artificial Intelligence, computer vision, IoT, data, analytics and automation can work together to create actionable intelligence from diverse sources. Among the solutions highlighted were A.I.D.A. (Artificial Intelligence Digital Assistant), our AI-powered platform designed to make information and insights more accessible, as well as our smart city and connected solutions for monitoring, managing and optimising physical and digital environments.
The showcase also highlighted Omnitech’s broader Smart City, Digital City and AI City capabilities from strategy, readiness assessment and blueprint development through to technology implementation and deployment. As one of the partners selected by MDEC for the AI Cities initiative, we continue to support cities and organisations in moving beyond digitalisation towards more intelligent, data-driven and citizen-centric environments.

Smart City Solution Sharing with Delegates from the City of Tabuk, Republic of Philippines

As part of our continued engagement with the regional smart city ecosystem, Quandatics Omnitech was invited to share our experience and capabilities in smart city development with a delegation from Tabuk City, Philippines. Tabuk City, the capital of Kalinga Province, is actively strengthening its use of information and communications technology to improve the efficiency of city government and public services, with a vision to become a model for ICT-enabled governance by 2030.
During the session, we shared our Smart City Consulting and Advisory approach, covering key smart city domains including Smart Governance, Smart Economy, Smart Environment, Smart Mobility, Smart Living, Smart People and Smart Digital Infrastructure. We also discussed smart city rating criteria, indicators for different levels of smart city maturity, as well as our methodology, scope, deliverables and implementation considerations for developing a practical smart city roadmap.
Beyond the strategic and planning aspects, we showcased several of Omnitech's technology solutions that can support cities in their digital transformation journey. These included AIDA (AI Digital Assistant) for improving the speed, accuracy and consistency of citizen communication; eG Enterprise for unified monitoring of applications, infrastructure and networks; ADAM (Agnostic Data Analytics Management) for creating a single source of truth across diverse data sources and cloud environments; and AOne NextGen IoT Platform for integrated monitoring and alerts across utilities, sensors and CCTV.
The session provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange between Malaysia and the Philippines, demonstrating how smart city transformation can be approached not simply as a technology deployment, but as a combination of strategy, governance, data, technology and people. For Omnitech, it also reinforced our commitment to sharing practical experience across the region and helping cities move from Ideation to Execution.

Terengganu Smart City Activation Day 2025 (TSCA.25)

Terengganu Smart City Activation Day 2025 (TSCA.25) was a state-level platform organised by the Terengganu State Government through PLANMalaysia@Terengganu to accelerate the development of a smarter, more sustainable and digitally connected Terengganu. Held on 14 October 2025 at Duyong Convention Centre, Kuala Terengganu, the event brought together government agencies, local authorities, industry players and technology partners to exchange ideas and showcase solutions supporting the Smart Terengganu 2040 agenda.
For Quandatics Omnitech, TSCA.25 marked an important milestone as we expanded our presence to the East Coast for the first time. We participated as an industry technology and smart city solutions provider, showcasing our capabilities in Artificial Intelligence, Data & Analytics, Next-Generation IoT and Smart City Consulting. Our participation also provided an opportunity to demonstrate how emerging technologies can move beyond concepts and translate into practical, scalable solutions for cities and communities.
Our showcase included solutions such as AIDA, AI Digital Assistant and ADAM, alongside our smart city consulting capabilities covering smart city blueprints, action plans and the adoption of AI and data-driven technologies. As one of the partners selected by MDEC to support the AI Cities initiative, Omnitech is committed to helping Malaysian cities progress from digitalisation towards more intelligent, data-driven and citizen-centric urban environments.
TSCA.25 was also an excellent opportunity for our team to engage with government agencies, local authorities, technology partners and industry stakeholders, strengthening relationships and exploring opportunities for collaboration. More importantly, it reinforced our belief that successful smart cities are not built by technology alone, but through the convergence of people, process, technology, data and strong ecosystem collaboration.

National Human Capital Conference and Exhibition (NHCCE 2025)

The National Human Capital Conference & Exhibition 2025 (NHCCE2025), the leading platform for human capital development in Malaysia and the ASEAN region took place from 6 October 2025 till 8 October 2025. Organised by the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) with the support of the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), NHCCE 2025 carried the theme “Navigating Human Capital Revolution.”
The three-day programme at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) highlighted the need for organisations and economies to innovate and adapt in a rapidly changing world of work. Recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the largest human capital conference in Southeast Asia, NHCCE 2025 featured more than 300 exhibition booths alongside a wide range of interactive sessions, including fireside chats, pocket talks, technology showcases and the BizMatch business networking platform.
Quandatics Omnitech was one of the official technology sponsors for NHCCE2025 and our booth was located at G12 at the Technology Partner Pavilion during the 3-day event. During the event, we showcased our AI Digital Avatar/Digital Human (A.I.D.A.) solution and eG Enterprise AI-Powered 360-Degrees Converged Observability Platform. The Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) is the largest and most influential event dedicated to urban innovation. Visionary leaders from companies, governments, and organisations unite to shape a sustainable future and Malaysia is making history as the FIRST Southeast Asian nation to host the Smart City Expo Kuala Lumpur (SCEKL)!
Since 2013, the event has expanded from its home base in Barcelona to cities like the USA, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Saudi Arabia, China and now to Malaysia.
As a proponent of emerging technologies (especially in the areas of AI and data and analytics) and a company that is active in the local smart city, digital city and AI city landscape, Quandatics Omnitech Sdn Bhd participated in this event albeit indirectly. We showcased our Artificial Intelligence Digital Assistant (A.I.D.A.) solution at the Perbadanan Putrajaya booth. Our solution (although just at the minimum viable product stage) powered Melor, Putrajaya's AI-powered digital avatar. AIDA isn't just smart, it is intuitive. It is omnichannel and multimodal. Built for mobility and powered by intelligence.
The SCEKL event took place from 17 September 2025 to 19 September 2025 at KLCC.
During the event, we managed to present our solution to the the mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Dato' Seri Tpr. Dr. Mainmunah Mohd Sharif and Minister of Federal Territories, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Zaliha Binti Mustafa. We also witnessed our Malaysian Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Minister of Digital, YB Gobind Singh Deo visited our booth for an explanation on the Kota Madani project.

Quandatics Omnitech Sdn Bhd participated in the Digital Putrajaya Exhibition & Conference (DIPEC 2024) under the MDEC Pavilion. The event themed 'AI and Data Driven Future City' was held on 4th and 5th December at the Dewan Persidangan Kompleks Perbadanan Putrajaya.
We showcased:

Our Unique Advisory and Consultancy Services for Digital City which among others include digital readiness assessment, gap analysis, competitive benchmarking, quick wins, partner strategy, funding strategy all the way to PMO as well as formulation of blueprint and KPIs that are actionable and transferable to our Digital City Dashboard for performance tracking.

The NHCCE event never disappoints. The largest and most anticipated HR event of the year kicks off today with a big bang.
In collaboration with Alibaba Cloud Malaysia, Quandatics Omnitech Sdn Bhd participated in the NHCCE 2024 which took place from 30th September to 2nd October 2024 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur as Human Resource Development Corporation's (HRDCorp) Strategic Technology Partner. We showcased among others Alibaba Cloud's Model Studio GenAI, Dingtalk AI-Powered Collaboration Solution and UiPath Robotic Process Automation (AI software robots) solutions.
